Teodora Zapryanova

English

Teodora Zapryanova began her professional career as a teacher after graduating from Paisii Hilendarski University of Plovdiv in 1990. She spent the early years of her career in the village of Benkovski, in the municipality of Kirkovo—an experience that taught her valuable lessons and gave her a deep understanding of working with students in diverse social and cultural environments.

She then continued her professional development in Plovdiv, and in 1997 she embarked on a new personal and professional path that took her to South Africa, where she lived and worked until 2017. During those nearly 20 years, she used English on a daily basis, honed her skills in a real-world setting, and gained extensive practical experience in communication.

After returning to Bulgaria, she made a conscious decision to return to the classroom as an English teacher. Her motivation stems from the conviction that she has something to offer her students —not only through her teaching qualifications, but also through her many years of hands-on experience with the language. For Teodora, teaching English is about practicality, confidence, and real-world application.

In her work, she uses innovative and interactive methods—digital tools, game-based approaches, projects, and real-life communication situations. She believes that learning is most effective when it involves emotion, trust, and freedom of expression, and when students feel confident using the language in the real world.
